Since 2001, the year in which the Brazilian subsidiary HISPAMAR was established, our company has shown a firm commitment to this country, which has been confirmed during these 20 years with each new satellite of our Amazonas fleet, located at 61º West, a Brazilian position. over which we have orbital rights. Due to its terrain and its desire to promote economic and social development, Brazil was already then a promising market for a sector such as satellite telecommunications. The creation of HISPAMAR allowed HISPASAT to become the reference operator for the large digital television platforms in the region.

Amazonas 1, launched into orbit in 2004, was followed by others such as Amazonas 2 - which was the largest satellite with coverage for the entire American continent when it was launched in 2009 - or Amazonas 3 - which in 2013 was the first to provide services. in Ka band in Latin America, which underlines the paradigm shift in the satellite sector, which was already evolving from the audiovisual sector to that of data transmission.

Currently the Amazonas fleet is made up of the Amazonas 2, 3 and 5 satellites and we have two other satellites in Brazilian positions, the Hispasat 55W-2 and the Hispasat 74W-1. The launch of our most advanced satellite, the Amazonas Nexus, is planned for the end of 2022, which will offer highly flexible in-orbit capacity to offer services linked to rural broadband and connectivity in land, air and maritime mobility environments. throughout the American continent, Greenland and the northern and southern corridors of the Atlantic.

HISPASAT's expansion in Latin America, begun with Hispamar, has continued with movements such as the opening of our Colombian branch or with the acquisition, this past year, of the Media Networks signal management and transport business. As a result, we established our subsidiary HISPASAT Perú to take charge of its infrastructure and operations from the Lurín teleport, which will allow us to reinforce our role as a reference operator for the provision of audiovisual services in Spanish and Portuguese. The success of Hispasat's commitment to the region is demonstrated by the fact that almost 70% of our income comes from the American continent.

2021 has concluded with the acquisition from Telemar by HISPASAT of the shareholding it held in HISPAMAR, which makes us the owner of 100% of its share capital. An operation of great strategic importance for the company and that reinforces the commitment made 20 years ago in this country. This purchase will allow us to act in a closer and more agile way to the needs of the region and, particularly, Brazil, where we have the necessary in-orbit capacity to be the best solution in terms of performance and cost efficiency for the distribution of audiovisual content in C band or for direct to home television (DTH) solutions in Ku band. In addition, for years we have been working in Latin America on the deployment of satellite connectivity solutions to reduce the digital divide in rural environments and to help governments in the region in key projects in areas such as telemedicine and teleeducation in rural schools, and help the development and digitalization of critical sectors, such as agriculture and transportation. In short, a very promising future for Hispamar in the region.
